SIBE PRIZE

 (AKA CANESTRINI PRIZE) 

To promote the participation of young researchers (under 40 years old) in its congresses, SIBE established a prize of 500 euros for the best scientific paper published (or in press) in the two-year period preceding the congress. In some cases the best talk has been awarded. CAVALLI-SFORZA PRIZE

SIBE established from 2019 the "Luigi Luca Cavalli Sforza" Award, in memory of the distinguished Italian geneticist whose creativity and intelligence had an incredible impact in many fields of Evolutionary Biology. OUTREACH PRIZE

Silvia Paolucci

One of the SIBE missions is the dissemination of scientific knowledge to the broad public. The prize is dedicated to Silvia Paolucci and her love for evolutionary biology and scientific communication. The award amounts to 500 and and is given to the best product for science dissemination and outreach realized in the previous two years. Assignees: 2023 - Víctor Hugo Muñoz-Mora, for the video “ENDEMIXIT - Population Genomics of Italian Endemics” 2019 - Agnese Sonato, for her project “EVOLUTION, a surprising journey” 2008 - Mauro Mandrioli e Lino Ometto (Luisa Bozzi Price)

DOCTOR DARWIN

With the aim to stimulate interest and research relating to the Evolutionary Medicine, SIBE assignes the “Doctor Darwin” Prize for the best scientific paper or oral presentation on this topic to a young SIBE members (up to 35 years old). The award, that consists in the amount of € 1.000, is sponsored entirely by our member Giacinto Libertini. BEST PHD PRESENTATION

During some congresses, SIBE also awards the best oral presentation given by a doctoral student. The winner is voted by the scientific committee of the congress. BEST POSTER
